I believe that the 2nd Amendment is a vital tenet of the Constitution and the American fabric. Our goal of increasing public safety is tied to sensible, thoughtful solutions that address the issues of gun violence within the 2nd District and urban America and make the right to lawful and responsible gun ownership an unchallenged way of life. Therefore, as your next Congressman in the 2nd District, I will defend the rights of law-abiding Americans to own gun under the protection of the 2nd Amendment while working towards solutions that best regulate "weapons of war" away from urban and suburban populations where these "weapons of war" provide the most potential for heartache.
